About R33GTST website

The History of the Website

After purchasing my R33 GTST in 2006 I needed to fit new shock absorbers on the back, as the n/s strut was leaking.
I searched the internet high and low but came up with nothing, and this included searching on owners clubs.

One of my "indoor hobbies" is building websites about the car I own at the time, and I've always included guides & how to sections to help others out.
Unfortunately I'm in the middle of making the decision of withdrawing these guides as there is too much that can go wrong, to both the person carrying out the work and the car itself - be it mechanical or structural damage, or the job not being done properly, with enough lack of experience and knowledge.

This has been brought about since a customer at my workplace decided to change his own discs and pads, and failed.

Faults were as follows:
spongy brake pedal - system not bled properly, air in the system, diaghram within the master cylinder was split.
piston in the caliper damaged due to correct piston windback proceedure not being followed.

In all it cost in excess of £500.00 to put it right (parts & labour).
Discs and pads can be changed professionaly for as little as £35.00 plus parts. Also bear in mind that the customer had already spent out on the new discs and pads in the first place, and as they were damaged beyond salvage, had to be disposed of.
