Living with an R33 GTST
Servicing:
High performance vehicles require regular oil changes and servicing. You can expect to pay between £70.00 - £500.00+ depending on the garage used, and what they do.
MPG:
An important factor here is how the car is driven, and if the correct fuel is used.
Most turbo charged cars will give 10% better fuel efficiency than a non turbo'd counterpart, providing boost isnt reached constantly
The most economical speeds are between 52 - 54 mph, and 73 - 75mph, although this figure will vary upon modifications made to the vehicle.
A hard driven R33 GTST can see as little as 100 miles per tank, whereas a sesibly driven offers around 300+ miles; again depending on if and how the vehicles been driven.
The average cost to fill the tank is £60.00 (based on a tank filling from empty, at £1.07 per litre)
Tyres:
On the 205/55/16 (91V) size you can expect to pay from £40.00, to £100.00 per tyre (this usually includes new valve, balance, disposal of old tyre & fitting).
Larger tyres can cost from £70.00 upwards.
Non Serviceable Parts:
The cost of non serviceable parts (ie. suspension / steering / braking components) can be expensive, especially when bought from a Nissan Main Dealer. Most Skyline owners refer to it as "Skyline Tax".
So in all the R33 does require some large sums of money being spent on it from time to time, and that cost soon mounts up over a year, more so if you do drifting, wheelspins, heavy braking etc.
Is it worth it? Well, yes - just be prepared to part with hard earned cash on a constant basis.
