JP Mods & Setup under construction

Mods & Setup

The first thing you need to establish is what you want your R33GTST to be specialised for; Drift, Drag,Circuit or Street.

Lets start with the Drift setup - The idea of drifting is to get the car at a sideways angle and remain in control of the motion which means the engine rpm should be high in order to keep the rear wheels spinning. As your probably more than aware,GTST's need little encouragement for a bit of sideways action, especially on wet / damp roads.
On ice these cars are lethal. And with cheap tyres, it just makes it worse.

Most setups will require at least stage 1 engine modifications, with rear Hicas Lockout bar fitted.
With regards to the suspension setup, ideally coilovers should be used as they allow for control over ride height and bounce / rebound settings, although I find the RSR Down Springs a good kit - which suits me down to the ground because theyr a hell of a lot cheaper than the Tein options, and probably a lot more comfortable a ride if used as an every day car.

These basic modifications are suitable for Drift Setup, as well as Drag & Street and at "entry level" is an ideal setup. Once you have gotten used to how you, and the car reacts to steering control, you will find plenty of room for improvement, not only within the steering and suspension side.

You'l notice I havent added brakes here, which isnt common for me to leave out as they are, at the end of the day your stopping power - but since your going to be going sideways, its also quite likely youl be stopping at all kinds of funny angles to begin with. Brakes are still important, and should always be looked into before adjusting the car for power enhancing modifications.

This section will be continued soon, therfore incomplete, sorry  foy any inconvinience.
