Hicas Removal

Tools needed:
19mm socket (3/8 & 1/2 inch) 3/8 ratchet, adjustable spanner (2" if possible), copper / hide hammer, 1/2 inch breaker bar, a vise and some side cutters.

Jack up the vehicle, both rear road wheels need to be taken off.
Undo the rear track rod to hub nuts (castleated nuts with a split pin - side cutters work well for removing the pins)

Un clip all the electrical terminals leading into the Hicas unit, including the earth wires, and cable tie them out of the way securely.

Undo and remove one of the 19mm bolts holding the Hicas unit to the chassis, get ready to catch it and remove the second bolt when your ready.

Place the Hicas unit in a vice and tighen it up, and undo the steering rods.

Fitting Lock Bar

Fit the steering rods into the Lock bar and tighten it - make sure you fit the steering boot back on first.

Offer the Lock bar to the chassis and fit the bolt with the hole (not the oval) first, then fit and tighten the bolt for the oval side.

Refit track rods, nuts & split pins

Fit wheels

Drift

Note: The Hicas light will be illuminated on the dashboard, it is telling you there is a fault with the system (that isnt there anymore). You can do something simple as a short term measure (it will look hideous) but some black tape over it will do. Remove dash & cluster, take the bulb out.
